FAQ
Domain Name Transfers
Yes.
We work to ensure the domain name(s) acquired are transferred to your preferred registrar.
Most transactions allow for an immediate transfer to your preferred registrar, however some may take a little longer depending on factors such as:
- The domain extension
- Registrar policies
- Registry policies
Note that a registrar transfer delay will almost never stop you from using the domain name, or getting possession. It just means you may have to hold the domain name at another registrar for a short time.
Domain name transfer times vary depending on the registrar, extension and response time of parties involved.
A large percentage of transfers associated with domain name acquisitions can take less than a day. However, sometimes you have to wait 5 days for a domain name transfer to complete.
Some buyers opt to accept an account change at the domain name’s current registrar. While this can certainly expedite gaining possession of a domain name, it can also sometimes result in an extended transfer lock period.

Expired Domain Names
International Domain Names
Many countries have their own country code domain name extensions such as .ca (for Canada), .co.uk (United Kingdom) and .ie (Ireland).
In fact, the popularity of these extensions are almost (or more) popular than .com in some areas.
Do you want to own your brand in local extensions?
While many countries have no restrictions on who can register a domain name, many do have restrictions such as:
- Local Contact Required
- Local Presence Required
- Limitation to the number of domains a single company can own
- Restricted words
- How the domain name is used
- and much more.
Connect with us today and speak with an international domain name expert.
Many country code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs) have a local presence requirement.
How a “local presence” is defined will vary by registry.
Some common requirements, specific to the country the domain name extension represents, include:
- Registrant must be a citizen of the country
- Administrative contact must have a local address
- Technical contact must have a local address
- Registrant must hold a Trademark for the country or area (EU for example)
- Organization must be registered with a recognized government department
- and more…
Many domain name registrars offer local presence services. Don’t rule out getting your desired domain name before speaking with an international domain expert. There is typically a workaround available.
Selling a Domain Name
Yes and No.
We represent a lot of portfolios owned by companies, brands and select individuals. However, we are very selective about the quality and type of domains to dedicate resources for.
If you feel like your portfolio is worth sharing then contact us here.
The best first step to having us potentially represent you on the sale of a domain name is to contact us here.
If you have a current offer and need to speak to someone immediately then emailing [email protected] is quicker.
Very good question.
How long it takes to sell a domain name depends on a variety of factors such as:
- The quality of the domain
- The asking price
- Trademark competition
- and more…
Many higher end domain name sales often result from longer marketing periods and/or simply finding the right buyer at the right time.
Very good question.
How much your domain name is worth can be a difficult question to answer. Some important notes to remember are:
- Around 99% of all domain names registered have little or no liquid value.
- Many published domain name sales were simply the result of one buyer wanting the domain. This doesn’t always make similar domain names valuable.
- Automated domain name appraisals are not (almost always) a good indication of liquid value.
